Greenville in the winter -how bad?

First post here. Household incomes average around $36,297 in Greenville. Average temperature is around 64--F, so the weather is moderate. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. Worth the trade-offs? Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 12 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are manageable, gas is decent.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Feel free to reach out with questions..
