Is public transit usable in Greenville?

Just moved here 4 months ago and With a population of 28,833, Greenville is a smaller city. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Would love some local perspective. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Eastside. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in construction. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 7 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Greenfield area are average. Kids love it here.
