Random thought, I grew up here but left for a while. Average temperature is around 64--F, so the weather is moderate. Poverty rate is 22.2%, which is higher than I expected. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Would love some local perspective.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Internet is excellent in most areas.

Came here for cost of living and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want job market, then yeah this place is great. But if housing market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I'm a electrician and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. The community is underrated and there's always something going on.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in West. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

Bought a house here in 2020 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
