Not sure if this has been asked before, but My partner and I are You can expect to pay around $983 for rent here. The unemployment rate is 5.8%, which is about average. The median home value here is around $213,100, which is actually reasonable. Average temperature is around 63--F, so the weather is moderate. Household incomes average around $50,564 in Greenville. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Good job market
- Low crime in most areas
- Lots of new development

Cons:
- Rising rent prices
- Boring for young people
- Limited cultural events
- Not enough green space
There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Uptown for 11 years. Moved from San Diego for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is excellent. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
finance is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Uptown schools are surprisingly good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Nightlife is limited. And job market can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 6/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The cost of living is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
