Just moved to Greenville from Atlanta — first impressions
We made the move 3 ago and here are my first impressions:
The downtown area has been revitalized. Rent runs about $983/month for a typical apartment. Weather is moderate — about 63F average.
Biggest surprise: Traffic is worse than I thought
Biggest disappointment: The winters are rougher than expected
Overall, it works for our family.

Moved here last year. No regrets. Great value for the money.

The food scene here is seriously underrated. So many great restaurants.

Good summary. I'd rate it higher personally — maybe 6/10.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Southside and Northside are perfectly safe.

For families, I'd recommend looking at Midtown. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.

Check out the Northside area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.

Totally agree with this. I've been here 4 years and my experience is very similar.
