What surprised you most about Greenville?

Hello, What neighborhoods would you suggest? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

I've been living here for 2 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The traffic is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Eastside for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Affordable housing options
- Diverse dining options
- The public transit scene is solid

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. No regrets on my end..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is school system. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.

Came here for family and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The food scene is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Hot take but it's not perfect but it works for me. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 14 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Bought a house here in 2016 and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely better than expected and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Riverside) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a real estate agent, 26, moved here 15 years ago from LA. I've lived in West and North, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Active local events and festivals
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Chain restaurants dominate
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The cost of living situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- West: Great for remote workers. underrated vibes, walkable.
- North: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from LA, everything felt solid. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are developing. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $40K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
