Working remotely from Greenville

Not sure if this has been asked before, but It's a a small town city with about 1,102 people. Average temperature is around 46--F, so expect cold winters. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is weather. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's been a really good experience overall. The only thing I'd watch out for is food scene. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..

The food scene here is pretty good. Tons of great farm-to-table places. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

I've lived in Sunset for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The pet-friendliness scene is improving

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a sales manager, 52, moved here 3 years ago from Pittsburgh. I've lived in Maple Ridge and Pine Hills, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Nice parks and green spaces
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not a lot of cultural diversity
2. Can feel isolated
3. The healthcare situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Maple Ridge: Great for retirees. solid vibes, walkable.
- Pine Hills: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Pittsburgh, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $100K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is pretty good in most areas.

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in North area are average. Kids love it here.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The healthcare is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
