I'm a college student here and With a population of 8,586, Greenville is a small town. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Am I overthinking this? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 14 years ago. The main reasons were weather and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Decent public transit for the size
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are pricey, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Definitely worth checking out..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is healthcare. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The public transit is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'm a electrician and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. The community is improving and there's always something going on.
