Is public transit usable in Greenville?

Hey everyone, I'm single, late 20s, and Rent is about $1,248/month for a decent place. Median household income is $68,460, which feels about average for the area. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Am I overthinking this? Looking forward to hearing from you all. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want dating scene, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Pine Hills. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in real estate. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a nurse, 45, moved here 4 years ago from San Diego. I've lived in Downtown and Riverside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Lots of new development happening
2. Good internet infrastructure
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not very walkable outside downtown
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The walkability situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Downtown: Great for singles. decent vibes, walkable.
- Riverside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Diego, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $90K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

2. Dating scene is rough
3. The safety situation is competitive and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Meadowbrook: Great for singles. average vibes, walkable.
- Riverside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Uptown. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say the quality of life is solid. The dating scene is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cultural scene. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.
