Planning a move to Greenville -neighborhoods?

Hello, My family moved here when I was a kid. You can expect to pay around $1,248 for rent here. Household incomes average around $68,460 in Greenville. Crime rate is something to consider -Greenville sits at 575.7 per 100K. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Am I overthinking this? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Meadowbrook for 13 years. Moved from New York for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is improving. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
consulting is strong here. legal is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor scene is decent - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Meadowbrook schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Limited entertainment options. And safety can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 7/10. Hope this helps!. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've been living here for 13 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The healthcare is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..
