I relocated for work and Median household income is $63,574, which feels about average for the area. The median home value here is around $197,400, which is actually reasonable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to San Francisco it's tough.

I've lived in West for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The job market scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Westside. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like seafood.
