Hey folks, I'm a 51-year-old police officer and It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

I've been living here for 11 years and I'd say it's improved dramatically in recent years. The public transit is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Nashville about 4 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Urban sprawl is real

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are reasonable, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Good luck with whatever you decide..
