Things that make Greenville unique

I'm single, late 20s, and It's a a smaller city city with about 29,936 people. Average temperature is around 66--F, so the weather is moderate. The median home value here is around $197,400, which is actually reasonable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. Worth the trade-offs? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Lakewood. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.
