Weekend activities in Greenville?

Alright, Poverty rate is 10.9%, which is around average. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

I work in finance here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is challenging. No regrets on my end..

I'm a sales manager and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. The community is surprisingly good and there's always something going on.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Chicago it's better than expected.

it depends on the neighborhood

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I love the pace of life here. Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 3 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Greenfield for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights
- The school system scene is decent

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from San Francisco about 12 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are developing, gas is decent.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. No regrets on my end..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a HR manager, 45, moved here 2 years ago from New York. I've lived in Meadowbrook and West, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Active local events and festivals
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Summers can be brutally hot
3. The weather situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Meadowbrook: Great for remote workers. excellent vibes, walkable.
- West: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from New York, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $80K-$150K here.

**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
