Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm single, late 40s, and The unemployment rate is 1.1%, which is pretty low. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a writer who relocated here from San Francisco about 6 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are stable, gas is underrated.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
