Job market in Greenwood for tech?

OK so I'm a remote worker and Crime rate is something to consider -Greenwood sits at 1,494.0 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $826 for rent here. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Let me know your thoughts. Cheers. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

We moved here with our family and the quality of life is solid. Schools in Pine Hills area are average. Kids love it here.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a sales manager, 32, moved here 9 years ago from Boston. I've lived in Midtown and Maple Ridge, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Nice parks and green spaces
3. Decent public transit for the size
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited high-paying job options
2. Limited shopping options
3. The cultural scene situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Midtown: Great for couples. surprisingly good vibes, walkable.
- Maple Ridge: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Boston, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $50K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've lived in Uptown for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Close to major attractions
- The school system scene is solid

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Hope this helps!.

I've lived in The Heights for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Affordable housing options
- The job market scene is average

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for families. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Bought a house here in 2023 and it was the best decision I ever made. Property values have gone about the same since then.
