Cheapest neighborhoods in Greer?

Random thought, I'm a 32-year-old restaurant manager and Homes are going for about $264,300 on average. Rent is about $1,144/month for a decent place. Median household income is $80,030, which feels pretty solid for the area. Poverty rate is 7.2%, which is pretty low. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want housing market, then yeah this place is great. But if traffic matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a project manager, 35, moved here 8 years ago from Houston. I've lived in Maple Ridge and The Heights, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Strong job market in several industries
3. Good internet infrastructure
4. The people are generally pretty good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Can feel isolated
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The safety situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Maple Ridge: Great for retirees. solid vibes, walkable.
- The Heights: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Houston, everything felt surprisingly good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are developing. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $40K-$80K here.

**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely excellent and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from New York about 10 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Close to major attractions
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are growing, gas is excellent.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Miami about 7 years ago. The main reasons were family and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are pricey, gas is excellent.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say it's improved dramatically in recent years. The job market is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..
