Thinking about relocating to Greer from Cleveland

Hey folks, I'm a teacher here and Rent is about $1,144/month for a decent place. Should I be concerned?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Charlotte about 2 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Decent public transit for the size

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are wild, gas is underrated.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 15 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Oak Park side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

I've been here 12 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
