Unpopular opinion about Greer

Random thought, Rent is about $1,144/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $264,300, which seems about average. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Worth the trade-offs? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I love the pace of life here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 13 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.
