Anyone else feel this way? Rent is about $799/month for a decent place. Should I be concerned? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Moved here from Phoenix about 6 years ago. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Still getting used to dating scene but It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.
I've been here 15 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is underrated.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
