Hi all, Been living here since 2006. With a population of 9,117, Gretna is a small town. Homes are going for about $326,000 on average. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Phoenix about 12 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Decent public transit for the size
- Four distinct seasons
Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are pricey, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The community vibe is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
