Moving to Griggsville -what should I know?

Hey folks, Poverty rate is 24.2%, which is higher than I expected. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Any advice would be great. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The weather is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Came here for cost of living and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The dating scene is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Came here for school and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The outdoor recreation is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it exceeded my expectations. Compared to New York it's better than expected.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Active local events and festivals
- The weather scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Feel free to reach out with questions..
