Freelancing from Grinnell -experience?

First post here. Median household income is $64,426, which feels about average for the area. The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $191,700 on average. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. I've lived in Sunset for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Affordable housing options
- The job market scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 8 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
