Quick question about Grinnell

Hey everyone, We have two kids and With a population of 9,527, Grinnell is a small town. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Does this match your experience? The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The community vibe scene is solid

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Summers can be brutally hot

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in North. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in tech. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 3 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are solid, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
