Moving from Charlotte to Grosse Pointe Park next month

Alright, My partner and I are Median household income is $121,796, which feels pretty solid for the area. The median home value here is around $460,500, which is pretty steep. Average temperature is around 49--F, so expect cold winters. With a population of 11,394, Grosse Pointe Park is a small town. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. Has anyone dealt with this? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. I've lived in Greenfield for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of new development happening
- The job market scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 6 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Oak Park side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
