Working in Grottoes -salaries realistic?

Hey folks, I've been here for 7 years and Homes are going for about $267,500 on average. With a population of 2,926, Grottoes is a small town. The suburbs are where most families end up. Is this normal for Grottoes? The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a physical therapist, 49, moved here 12 years ago from Atlanta. I've lived in Fairview and West, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Nice parks and green spaces
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Not very walkable outside downtown
3. The job market situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Fairview: Great for couples. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- West: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Atlanta, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $80K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
