Should I move to Grove City or stay in Omaha?

So, The unemployment rate is 2.1%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. Poverty rate is 5.1%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $1,282 for rent here. Homes are going for about $283,300 on average. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Seattle about 7 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- Decent public transit for the size

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are competitive, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Good luck with whatever you decide..
