Moving to Grove Hill -what should I know?

Hey, I'm single, late 30s, and Household incomes average around $49,223 in Grove Hill. The suburbs are where most families end up. Am I overthinking this? The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Maple Ridge. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in engineering. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Bought a house here in 2022 and it was the best decision I ever made. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

I'm a teacher and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. The community is excellent and there's always something going on.
