Alright, Military spouse here. Poverty rate is 3.2%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $92,258, which feels pretty solid for the area. The unemployment rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 73--F, so it's warm year-round. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in The Heights. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Mexican.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Decent public transit for the size
- The job market scene is better than expected
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've lived in Eastside for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Decent public transit for the size
- The pet-friendliness scene is average
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited high-paying job options
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
