Cost of living reality check -Groveland

Hey folks, My partner and I are Homes are going for about $344,000 on average. Median household income is $92,258, which feels pretty solid for the area. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 13 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are stable, gas is underrated.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Feel free to reach out with questions..
