Is Grover Beach a good place to live?

Curious what people think. Average temperature is around 59--F, so the weather is moderate. The median home value here is around $691,900, which is pretty steep. With a population of 12,687, Grover Beach is a small town. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What neighborhoods would you suggest? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely challenging and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Cedar Grove) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Houston, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The walkability is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I'm a physical therapist and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. The community is pretty good and there's always something going on.
