Housing market in Groves right now

I'm originally from Seattle and Rent is about $1,247/month for a decent place. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

I've lived in Springfield for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good internet infrastructure
- The school system scene is decent

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for families. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Used to live on the Old Town side, now on the South side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Raleigh about 8 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Active local events and festivals
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Urban sprawl is real

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are pricey, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Definitely worth checking out..

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a physical therapist, 43, moved here 3 years ago from New York. I've lived in Maple Ridge and Pine Hills, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Active local events and festivals
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Not very walkable outside downtown
3. The pet-friendliness situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Maple Ridge: Great for singles. solid vibes, walkable.
- Pine Hills: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from New York, everything felt surprisingly good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $70K-$80K here.

**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The walkability is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. dating scene used to be much growing but now it's challenging.
