Anyone regret moving to Guayama zona urbana?

Hey, You can expect to pay around $404 for rent here. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Worth the trade-offs? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Oak Park. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I'm a accountant and I've found the quality of life is solid. The community is tough and there's always something going on.
