OK so Military spouse here. You can expect to pay around $404 for rent here. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Should I be concerned? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Used to live on the Cedar Grove side, now on the Downtown side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

I've lived in Downtown for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Affordable housing options
- The safety scene is solid
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in Greenfield for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Close to major attractions
- Diverse dining options
- The dating scene scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 5 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value traffic, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely decent and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Old Town) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've been living here for 2 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The food scene is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is safety. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in Riverside area are tough. Kids love it here.

But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.
