Been meaning to ask this. The median home value here is around $107,300, which is actually reasonable. Crime rate is something to consider -Guayama zona urbana sits at 2,771.8 per 100K. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Am I wrong here? Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if dating scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The weather is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Westside. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.
I've been here 14 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
