Moving to Guayama zona urbana with kids -good idea?
Rent is about $404/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $404 for rent here. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Let me know your thoughts.

I'm a sales manager and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. The community is solid and there's always something going on.

Came here for school and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The food scene is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Raleigh about 12 years ago. The main reasons were school and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good airport with direct flights
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are developing, gas is tough.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a teacher who relocated here from Dallas about 9 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is underrated.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Meadowbrook. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

My experience has been mostly positive. I have mixed feelings honestly. The only thing I'd watch out for is outdoor recreation. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..
