Is Gulf Shores a good place to live?

Hey folks, Rent is about $1,363/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 12.0%, which is around average. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 9 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Oak Park side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
