Things that make Gulf Shores unique

Hey, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Homes are going for about $367,000 on average. Median household income is $73,873, which feels about average for the area. Rent is about $1,363/month for a decent place. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 4 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

Bought a house here in 2020 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Used to live on the Oak Park side, now on the Meadowbrook side. Completely different vibe. it's been a really good experience overall.
