Is public transit usable in Gulfport?

Anyone else feel this way? I'm a teacher here and Household incomes average around $68,617 in Gulfport. With a population of 11,735, Gulfport is a small town. Crime rate is something to consider -Gulfport sits at 224.9 per 100K. It's a a small town city with about 11,735 people. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Is this normal for Gulfport? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

I'm a lawyer and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is tough and there's always something going on.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 3 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
