How are the schools in Gulfport?

Longtime lurker here, I work in real estate and You can expect to pay around $1,030 for rent here. Homes are going for about $167,100 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Gulfport sits at 326.0 per 100K. With a population of 72,533, Gulfport is a smaller city. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I've lived in Oak Park for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Active local events and festivals
- The job market scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Good luck with whatever you decide..
