Been meaning to ask this. I'm originally from Phoenix and Rent is about $1,030/month for a decent place. Median household income is $46,044, which feels on the lower side for the area. Homes are going for about $167,100 on average. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Tampa it's surprisingly good.

Used to live on the Eastside side, now on the East side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is safety. I genuinely enjoy living here. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've lived in Midtown for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Close to major attractions
- The traffic scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
