How is Gun Barrel City for outdoor activities?

Hey, I'm a college student here and The unemployment rate is 7.0%, which is concerning. Poverty rate is 12.4%, which is around average. The suburbs are where most families end up. Any advice would be great.

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 13 years here, that's my honest assessment.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in East. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in education. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is healthcare. Other than that, Hope this helps!.
