Is public transit usable in Gun Barrel City?

OK so We're a young couple and Average temperature is around 66--F, so the weather is moderate. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up.

The food scene here is pretty good. Tons of great craft beer places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

We moved here with our family and the quality of life is solid. Schools in Springfield area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is weather. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is tough in most areas.

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The walkability is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

Bought a house here in 2022 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Raleigh about 13 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Close to major attractions
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are reasonable, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Definitely worth checking out..
