Remote worker thinking about Gun Barrel City

Crime rate is something to consider -Gun Barrel City sits at 159.4 per 100K. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Does this match your experience? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Four distinct seasons
- The school system scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Limited shopping options
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. No regrets on my end..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Denver it's challenging.
