First post here. We have two kids and Poverty rate is 12.4%, which is around average. The unemployment rate is 7.0%, which is concerning. Median household income is $69,273, which feels about average for the area. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. What are your go-to spots? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.
