I'm originally from Raleigh and You can expect to pay around $1,924 for rent here. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Should I be concerned?

The food scene here is pretty good. Tons of great farm-to-table places. it's not perfect but it works for me.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 6 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The pet-friendliness is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 4 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 2 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

As someone who grew up here, it's exactly what I was looking for. A lot has changed in the past few years though. dating scene used to be much developing but now it's better than expected.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cost of living, then yeah this place is great. But if cultural scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from Nashville about 7 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are developing, gas is excellent.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. No regrets on my end..

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in Greenfield area are better than expected. Kids love it here.
