Commute times in Hacienda Heights -how bad?

Curious what people think. My family moved here when I was a kid. Homes are going for about $778,700 on average. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Am I overthinking this?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in South. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

I'm a HR manager and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is improving and there's always something going on.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from Tampa about 2 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are reasonable, gas is underrated.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Fairview for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good healthcare facilities
- The community vibe scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. No regrets on my end..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely excellent and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Denver, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Charlotte about 14 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are wild, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Definitely worth checking out..

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. weather used to be much manageable but now it's excellent.
