Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 7 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of new development happening
Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited high-paying job options
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are pricey, gas is improving.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Hot take but there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. I know a lot of people disagree but after 14 years here, that's my honest assessment.
