Hackensack in the winter -how bad?

Curious what people think. I relocated for work and Crime rate is something to consider -Hackensack sits at 231.4 per 100K. Poverty rate is 7.6%, which is pretty low. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Used to live on the East side, now on the Sunset side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to San Francisco it's decent.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
