Is Hackensack a good place to live?

Random thought, We have two kids and Crime rate is something to consider -Hackensack sits at 231.4 per 100K. Average temperature is around 55--F, so the weather is moderate. The median home value here is around $370,300, which seems about average. Poverty rate is 7.6%, which is pretty low. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Thanks! There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. Used to live on the Greenfield side, now on the Downtown side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
